There are many areas in which the United States (as well as all other sovereign countries) could and should make changes to improve the lives of citizens. Some of these areas are highly controversial, while other receive little public attention. Each of the buttons below provide a short, two to six page vignette describing the problem and possible solutions. They are not exhaustively researched, and the solutions are certainly not represented as the best possible.
The purpose of these short vignettes is to invite knowledgeable and concerned citizens to comment on the descriptions of the problem that is written about, and to improve, or possibly reject, suggested solutions. Please contact me with questions, suggestions, proposed revisions, new ideas, or just to discuss topics, particularly relating to economic/political issues. Comments will be incorporated into the vignettes. If, and when, sufficient comments are received, and specific solutions are supported by a number of people, these solutions will be forwarded to individuals in position to implement them.
There is much that can be done to improve the way the country functions. All Americans need to begin thinking about possible specific changes in the way that the country operates, both in our programs and our institutions. We should not simply accept political promises that usually will not be achieved.
